Earlier this month, First Tae Kwon Do held its last grading examination for the year in Perth. Below are some photographs from the 1st Dan grading (for Junior Black Belt members to be promoted to 1st Dan black belt) and the senior coloured belt (Kup) grading. 1st Kup candidates for 1st Dan were tested earlier in the day.

Master Vernon Low was the examiner, and spent some time during the grading to teach self-defence techniques.

Free sparring and breaking followed, with all candidates doing well at their gradings.

Master Low, Chief Instructor John O’Brien, and WA Chief Instructor Dane Meade stood with the new 1st Dan members for a portrait.

The last session of the day was the senior Kup grading. There was plenty of action, and some members demonstrated jumping and flying kicks during their free sparring.

Congratulations to all members who underwent testing on the day, and were successfully promoted to new ranks.
