Normally, shooting during the daytime is good in many ways. But when you are indoors and there is strong daylight entering the venue from outside, shooting can become difficult. Thankfully, modern digital cameras and sensible processing of RAW images make it very possible to get adequate pictures.

In two of the images above, an open door was allowing strong sunlight into the gymnasium, and those parts of the images are obviously overexposed. Those pictures needed a little work in post-processing. In the other two images, positioning (of the photographer) and framing (of the scene) made things much easier on the camera and the software, in a sense; there was minimal work involved in post-processing.
